Welcome to the East Gippsland Livestock Exchange information site. The Livestock Exchange is owned and operated by the East Gippsland Shire Council on behalf of our rural community to provide services to the farming industry and contribute to our local economy.

Our reputable professional services are recognised through our various accreditations from National Saleyard Quality Assurance Ltd. (NSQA), Meat Standards Australia (MSA) and Meat and Livestock Australia (National Livestock Identification System NLIS).

Premium quality livestock care is our top priority. Our management practices and facility design ensure a low-stress environment. For example we recognise that by maintaining thickbase soft-flooring, it provides needed relief for foot soreness that livestock may undergo coming from other hard surface yards or after long-distance transport.

We provide focused Bio-security practices to ensure all livestock entering the Livestock Exchange have their associated National Vendor Declarations (NVD's) and are ear-tagged with the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS). Our bio-security practices extend to the commitment of ensuring our yards and water troughs are cleaned before every sale.
